merenzao, mencia, garnacha tintorera - Valdeorras:: Winemaker Alberto Orte features the historical varietal merenzao (also known as bastardo in Portugal or trousseau in France) to create an aromatic red with a subtle, elegant palate. Whole cluster maceration and a 28 day fermentation cycle are followed by 15 months in French oak. This wine pairs well with our 5j iberico ham, venison chops, iberico pork, bacon-wrapped dates or serrano ham and fig salad.
